The first LOMO camera that i owned was a Smena Symbol - i sold it off last year to someone who was just into film and especially LOMO style of photography. She related to me the outcome of her 1st roll with the Smena Symbol. For beginner, she highly recommended NOT to use the 36 rolls film. Instead opt for smaller one. Reason being, she has lost track after a while on her new experiment with film shooting.
She also learned that she has so much to learn when it comes to focusing with a Smena. Not only that, the adjusting of shutter speed requires a few takes which she has no idea how. All in all, although using LOMO camera has many challenges, nevertheless, the lessons learned is golden in pursuit of satisfying results.
Now, i have obtain a Smena Symbol available for sales. May it found a new owner.
